John Talbot, our favorite poet, told us that the British airport strike has been averted. Thank you Unite and the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCSU)!

Good news from the airport
January 1, 2008The Royal Channel
December 24, 2007The Royal family has set up a channel on youtube. The Royal Channel includes a number of interesting clips. Although we don’t expect to be in any (unless we get caught in a (big) crowd – it could happen!), it’s interesting to watch.
News from Britain: Monarchy, Russian art, & airport woes
December 21, 2007Queen Elizabeth II became the oldest living monarch in British history. Only about 7 years and 9 months until she passes Queen Victoria as the longest-reigning monarch. Perhaps we can get Brian and Brandon, our resident singers, to sing a congratulatory song outside the palace.
I hope our friend and fellow BYU-London traveler, Joe Ostraff (resident artist extraordinaire), and his art students are happy to learn this news. I doubt any of us will make it to Moscow to take in the art museums.
Could this news come at a worse time? I hope we can find our luggage, assuming the plane can even land!
Perhaps we’ll see another call for a confidence vote during our stay. New Labour leadership looks to be struggling mightily in the polls.
